The Committee on Schools was set up in 2010 in order to create a meeting point between the science dissemination activities offered by universities and research institutions and the dissemination requirements of local schools. The Committee's aim is to enable local students to benefit from the excellence in science and in the humanities available in Trieste.
In 2022 was created the Trieste Education Cluster, an online platform designed to collect and make more accessible events, exhibitions, conferences and other opportunities that the scientific and cultural institutions of the territory, but also the schools themselves, organize and offer to teachers, educators and pupils. The platform is open to anyone who studies, works or has an interest in the world of knowledge, with the aim to facilitate collaboration between partners with different skills and perspectives and to encourage the creation of new projects and initiatives.
The Trieste Education Cluster platform is part of the European Project PHERECLOS (Partnerships for pathways to Higher Education and science engagement in Regional Clusters of Open Schooling). This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 824630.
